Overview of PCI Header

It is understandable when new fees are added to your merchant account that you are upset, however, many times these fees correspond directly to industry fee-updates from the card associations such as Visa®, MasterCard®, or Discover® Network. It is also understandable that merchants don't understand what "getting compliant" means, especially when they are not working with a company such as Electronic Payments who has painstakingly put together such a robust and informative website to help educate you on compliance.

By engaging in a Merchant Agreement, you agree to follow with "Rules" of the various card associations. These associations amend their Rules from time to time, and incorporate new operating regulations into them. One of the parts of processing credit cards, even if you have had your business before the PCI DSS came out, is to adhere to the rules established in the PCI DSS.
